This Week In Every State — 6/25/26

This June has turned into one of the worst months for the Trump administration in recent memory. With the midterms rapidly approaching and a blue wave forming on the horizon, Republicans are becoming increasingly desperate to cling to power.

Namely, fearing its lingering effects in November, the president has abruptly surrendered his costly and unprovoked war against Iran. Ultimately, Republicans spent billions upon billions of your tax dollars over the past three months to bomb a foreign country for nothing in return — wasting what could have been used to pay for health care, housing, and free school meals across the country. After making the promise of “no new wars” on the campaign trail, his decision to start another losing war in the Middle East shows his complete indifference to working families.

And even if this peace holds, there’s no telling when (or if) gas prices will ever go back to normal.

Likewise, Trump’s plans to celebrate the Fourth of July and America’s 250th anniversary have taken a turn for the worse. After being forced to remove his name from the Kennedy Center, his ‘renovations’ of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool have transformed the national landmark into an algae-ridden cesspool — complete with peeling paint and dead animals. Several residents of D.C., including a former Olympic canoeist, have even been arrested on bogus charges in an effort to cover up the administration’s incompetence.

As his leadership failures become increasingly obvious, the president and his sycophants have redoubled their efforts to steal the midterms and overturn the will of voters. Donald Trump is now refusing to sign any legislation until Congress agrees to give him the power to rig elections and disenfranchise tens of millions of Americans under the SAVE Act.

Moreover, his postmaster general revealed on Wednesday that the USPS would intentionally withhold mail-in ballots to states that refuse to hand over their voter rolls to the federal government. Although a federal court has blocked the administration’s attempts to create an exploitable national database, this is an ominous reminder that we must stay vigilant.

An Update on Mail-in Voting

In a scheduled appearance before the Senate Homeland Security Committee on Wednesday, Postmaster General David Steiner revealed that the U.S. Postal Service would refuse to deliver mail-in ballots to states that don’t turn over their voter rolls to the federal government.

While a judge has struck down this proposal, it’s still an important reminder that our elections are under attack every second under this administration.

Trump Refuses to Sign Landmark Housing Affordability Bill

Instead of taking a victory lap around a rare bipartisan breakthrough, Trump is holding hostage a bill designed to bring down the costs of home ownership.

Before signing it, he’s demanding that Congress pass strict voter suppression measures that would allow him to rig elections in his favor.

This isn’t just an attack on our democracy — it’s an insult to every prospective first-time home buyer.

Trump's Iran Surrender Keeps Getting Worse

Trump’s peace deal isn’t just a surrender — it’s a complete betrayal of his campaign promise to look after Americans and make life more affordable.

We could have had healthcare. Instead, we got another pointless war with billions of dollars sent down the drain.

A Reflection of Failure

The Reflecting Pool has become the swamp Trump promised to drain. his shameless corruption — bypassing the regular bidding process on government contracts to give his clueless friends a multi-million dollar payout — has transformed one of America’s most iconic landmarks into a festering cesspool.

Lies, incompetence, and an increasingly ruthless authoritarian crackdown on dissent, the Reflecting Pool disaster encapsulates everything wrong with Republican leadership as America nears its 250th anniversary.
